Business Development Officer
Cary Schultz became a member of Sunbelt Health Solutions in January of 2019. He is currently the Business Development Officer and also administers anesthesia services at our ambulatory surgery centers and office based practice locations.
Cary Schultz, (Commander) retired from the United States Navy after 30 years of military service in January of 2019. He graduated from the Navy Nurse Corps Anesthesia Program where he received a Master of Science degree for nurse anesthesia from Georgetown University in 2003.
His anesthesia service began as a staff nurse anesthetist at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, US Naval Hospital, Naples Italy, Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune (NHCL), Jacksonville, NC and completed his military service at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida.
Over his Naval career he established the Duke University Student Nurse Anesthesia Training Program at NHCL. He deployed support of Operation Enduring Freedom aboard the USS George Washington, with the Army to Kalate, Afghanistan providing. Lastly, he deployed to provide anesthesia and educational support for a humanitarian mission in Central and South America.
One noteworthy achievement was his success in spearheading the implementation of nitrous oxide for labor and delivery patients throughout their obstetric stay. Naval Hospital, Jacksonville, FL was the first U.S. military hospital to offer this alternative pain management program which is now available Navy wide to all obstetric patients throughout their delivery experience.
