  CLINICAL INTERESTS:   Peri-Operative Management and Executive Leadership, Patient Safety Initiatives, Clinical Quality and Operational Efficiency, Office-Based Anesthesia, and Outfield Anesthesia,   BIOGRAPHY:   Nicholas Kalynych, DNP, MSHS, CRNA, ARNP is a founding partner / Chief Executive Officer of Sunbelt Anesthesia Services, LLC.  SAS provides comprehensive anesthesia services and management solutions to any size practice, featuring cosmetic office-based and multispecialty ambulatory surgery centers.   Dr. Kalynych received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Point Loma Nazarene College, San Diego California in 1985 and obtained his Master’s Degree in Health Sciences from George Washington University, Washington D.C. in 1993. He is licensed in the state of Florida as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and attained his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of North Florida, Jacksonville Florida in 2016.   Dr. Kalynych has been a registered nurse since 1985 and was awarded the “Top Nurse of Charleston Naval Hospital” in 1988 and the “Top 100 Nurses Award” for Jacksonville in 2005.  He has held numerous executive level and administrative roles during his career, including Director of Peri-operative Services for UF & Shands. He has held previous academic appointments including those with the University of Alabama, Birmingham, Florida International University and the Uniform Services Health Sciences Programs.  He is currently clinical faculty and clinical coordinator for SRNA Program with University of North Florida.  Along with his academic, clinical and educational pursuits Dr. Kalynych has distinguished himself for his selfless volunteering of personal time and skills during humanitarian missions.   He has selflessly delivered hundreds of anesthetics on underprivileged and needy children across the world for the surgical repair of cleft lip and pallet during the nine humanitarian missions with Operation Smile, International.   Dr. Kalynych also proudly served our country in the United States Navy.  His 23 years of honorable and dedicated service including numerous humanitarian missions, various operational and isolated independent overseas commands and service during combat in support of Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Gulf War and Iraqi Freedom.  His distinguished service awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (x3) and Navy Achievement Medal (x3) and various other personal and command awards.  He retired at the permanent rank of Lieutenant Commander December 2001.   As an accomplished hospital administrator, astute business associate, clinical educator with vast clinical experience makes Dr. Kalynych an exceptional guiding force and trusted mentor for Sunbelt Anesthesia Services.  He like his partners take direct responsible and ownership for the coordination and quality of anesthesia services being provided to each one of our clients and their patient’s that are entrusted to our care on a daily basis. ​
